Behind Get Woof’d

About Cass
Cass is an Australian Defence Force Veteran who brings a tactical mindset and a highly adaptable approach to her training. With a diverse background in both human and animal behaviour, Cass has worked across a wide range of fields, steadily honing her expertise and following her passion for detection work.
Her journey began in veterinary clinics, where she worked with pet dogs and conducted behavioural assessments for various rescue organisations in Queensland. She went on to specialise in training pet dogs with complex behavioural issues, particularly those involving human and animal aggression. Cass also played a key role in raising and training assistance dog candidates from puppyhood to adulthood.
Driven by her passion for detection, Cass transitioned into preparing and raising detection dog candidates for pest eradication and prevention programs for both state and international government agencies. As a professional dog handler and trainer, she has contributed to the development of specialised programs in this field and has provided critical insight into the selection and evaluation of quality dog candidates—from puppies to fully grown dogs.
Cass is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) ACSW Judge & ANKC Judge, and she trains numerous high level K9 Nose Work teams. She is highly regarded for her ability to help established teams overcome common challenges, particularly at the advanced levels of the sport. Her training philosophy centres on building stronger teams through engagement, connection, and fun.
Cass’s own dog, Vixen—a Labrador Retriever she welcomed as an older dog—has made Australian history by becoming the first to earn two NW3 titles, and the first dog to achieve NW3 Elite titles, along with NW3-C, NW3-E ,NW3-I, and NW3-V. The pair actively competes in ANKC trials and currently holds SWM,SWC, SWE, SWI, and SWV titles. Vixen also claimed victory in Ford K9’s inaugural Detection Dog Games at the Pro Level. Cass has recently added a new puppy, Tex, to her team, who is already showing outstanding promise.

Cass is also a Dogs Australia Scent Work Judge
